Australian Made Chipboard
I loved the original string circles when Scrapmatts first brought them out. Then Sofie and Andrew made them better by bring out new designs with dots, stars or arrows on the circles. Last month they expanded the range again to release a pack with larger sized circles! I fell in love and knew I had to play with them right away.…Continue

Hello! Two layouts from me this month, as I've decided my card stash is sufficiently built up at the moment. First up I have a rustic double-page layout featuring some photos of my son and husband at a petting zoo. The new Gum Leaves design was perfect for adding a bush element here.

One of my favourite things about chipboard is how easy it is to modify to suit your projects. For example, I have a variety of different reindeer designs from Scrapmatts, so when I wanted to do a layout with these deer feeding photos fro my sister's wedding it was super easy to just cut off their antlers and paint up to suit the layout.

Hello chipboard lovers! I hope you had a good Easter. Regulars to the blog will have seen lots of the other Design Team members sharing their display canvases and tody I'm doing the same. If you get a chance to attend a craft expo where Scrapmatts is exhibiting be sure to check out all the canvases on display together, they always look amazing!

I recently cleaned my craft room and discovered I have an abundance of kraft cardstock so thought I better put it to use. Kraft is fantastic to pair with chipboard, as it gives a really earthy/natural look if you leave the chipboard raw or can provide great colour contrast if you paint the chipboard.

I love Christmas layouts, I have a whole album dedicated to them. Luckily, Scrapmatts makes a HUGE range of Christmas chipboard designs and there are new ones each year.

Scrapmatts is sponsoring CSI: Colour, Stories, Inspiration so my two design team projects for this month use their challenges as inspiration.

I had so much fun making my last dreamcatcher that I had been thinking of making another one for a couple of months now. I finally sat down to do it this month and found that my fellow Scrapmatts DT member Crece had also created a dreamcatcher for her project this…Continue

Scrapmatts runs brilliant classes at shows and expos. Even before I was on the design team I would always make sure I did one of their classes at every expo I went to. Sofie makes sure you finish all the projects during the class (anyone else have a pile of unfinished projects they didn't finish in a class?) and you also get a couple of sheets of extra chipboard to create projects at home…Continue

Mixed media is not new to scrapbooking by any means and it is a technique which I really enjoy for the opportunity to get messy and just keep layering. Scrapmatts has recently released a range of mesh chipboard pieces which are perfect to use on mixed media pieces. I have used the larger circle mesh (CB5130 Circle Mesh 03) on this layout and created a tutorial if you want to create a similar layout.

I know most of the rest of the design team is showcasing Christmas projects, but I'm a little obsessed with my son Harrison at the moment so he's staring in my two projects. I hope you find him just as adorable as I do. :)
We received our professional photographs by Rachael Wilson Photography from the newborn…Continue

Thanks for popping by to see my latest layout featuring Scrapmatts chipboard. I love this Leaf Spray design, which comes with seven pieces and is very versatile. I've also popped in a couple of Scrap Words which I've found can be used on almost every layout.

I'm back with a new Scrapmatts DT post after taking last month off to spend some time with my new baby. Harrison Donald Tomecek was born on 5.8.14 and has consumed my life since that time. People tell me it gets easier after 6-8 weeks, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Right now though I'm managing on very little sleep and even less craft time. I did manage to whip up a painters tray as a…Continue

Argh, silly technical difficulties have made me a day late with this post. I apologise to you all, however my laptop died a few days ago and hubby's work laptop didn't have all the editing programs on it. Nevermind, hopefully we can muddle through and I'll still get to share my projects for this month with you.
When I was first sent two of the new Shadow Box kits in my design team pack I…Continue

Hello again! Have you ever had that LO that you thought you knew where you wanted to go but it fought you every step of the way? That was the way it was going with my first layout, 'Oh Happy Day', so I tossed everything but the photo and the chipboard vine to start all over again in a new direction. I think it's a bit different to my normal work but I love the end result.…Continue

I have now officially scrapbooked about scrapbooking - as my husband pointed out to me when I showed him this layout. :) I have had this fantastic photo from the 2012 Noosaville scrapbooking retreat I attended sitting around for a while and decided it was finally time to put it to paper.

In a perfect example of the constant struggle to achieve a work/life balance, I have created one LO about my personal life and completed one off-the-page project for work.
My work recently gave all the staff members notebooks in which to record topics for discussion at our fortnightly staff meetings to further our understanding of best practice principles. My…Continue

Welcome to my blog post for February. February is such an exciting time because it's the start of all the craft shows in the new year which means lots of exciting new releases! Scrapmatts have heaps of stunning new designs this year (I'm loving the hanging hearts some of the girls showed earlier this month) and I have featured a couple of the other designs in my projects for this month too.…Continue

It looks like my plan of scrapbooking more this year has not gotten off to a great start. I have however managed to create two new layouts for the January Scrapmatts DT work. Our first theme was 'New Beginings'. I've chosen to scrap about my friend's baby shower prior to the birth of her son. It was a fun afternoon and the first baby shower I had ever been to.
